WestMichiganBass
I'm from the grand rapids area. Fish the Flat and the Grand river alot and do alot of pond hopping for largemouth and pike. Anyone ever fished canadian lakes up near big rapids?
Fish the Mitt
It's not too far from me but I've never been over that way to fish. I've only been to BR to attend Ferris State "events".

detroit1
No longer live in Detroit, but in Livonia now. I fish Orchard Lk. the most, but Middle straights, Wolverine, Cedar Isl., Belleville, Sylvan, and a few others. My 16' Grumman will see lake ST. Clair a few times this year (on weekdays). A-Jay..you stay up north- we don't need you comin' down here harassing our fish.

lecisnith
Yeah. This Indian Winter depression is starting to take its toll. I haven't even had the heart to practice pitching off my deck...
Tygaiser7
I've been lucky enough to have gotten out a few times. It's just been really slow. Sub 40 water temps don't make for the greatest fishing.
Fish the Mitt
Went out to the creek I caught my PB (knowing fair well it's too cold for fish to be that far up it) just to cast for about an hour. Got some new tackle and a handful of custom jigs from Tim @ GLB. Next two weeks should set things in motion right?!
Captain America
Grand Rapids here... I fish smallies in the grand usually... Fish the Mitt
Went out tonight for an hour and landed three. 2 LMB (one 2lber and a dink) and a 24" pike. All caught on different lures. A KVD 1.5 squarebill crank, a dropshot w/ 4" SK Dreamshot, and a ZMan PZ Chatterbait w/ Havoc Craw Fatty in Black/Blue Fleck, respectively.
Super User A-Jay Posted April 16, 2016 Super User Share Posted April 16, 2016 I finally got out today ~ sunny & 60 - ish. Jerk bait was making it happen to the tune of 4 Brown Bass. Felt good. Going again tomorrow - Oh and I'm not ? A-Jay
Fish the Mitt
Went out again this evening. Caught about 12 in 2.5hrs. Went out this morning and landed 3 walleye (GF landed 2 of them). The bass (all LMB) were loving my new favorite setup. ZMan Project Z w/ Kietech Easy Shiner trailer. Caught my PB for Lake Kerswill (Gladwin Co) today on it. They also bit on the dropshot mentioned above, a 1.5 Red Sexy Shad by SK, and a double willow spinnerbait (white and chartreuse) by Buddha Baits (I think?) Caught most of them in 4-8ft of water with the PB getting hooked in about 2ft (same area they'll bed down later - weird?)

Fish the Mitt
I just bought a Rapala Shadow Rap 09. Slow riser. Have yet to use it. Is that what yours is? It's supposed to have 180 degree action when jerked on a slack line.

MI.Kayaker
Bass were stacked up in the shallows 2-4' today with the high temperatures. Most were very skittish but I did manage to hook two on the livetarget sunfish and a pad crasher. Mainlake temps were 56 with the water back in the canals as warm as 65. Cold front on Tuesday could shake things up.
Fish the Mitt
Yup. I went again lastnight for a quick hour. Caught two (one nice one) - both in 3ft of water or less. Both on a Buddha Bait Bladed Jig (white and chartreuse) with a KVD Rage Tail Craw in Black/Blue Fleck trailer. This warming trend really has em' moving deep to shallow pretty quick I feel. I've almost eliminated waters deeper than 8ft already.
dinks4life
Posting a bit late but I am a little outside the Flint area. Love fishing LSC and a few small lakes such as Lake Fenton, Ponemah, and Big Seven.
