I thought the chips were supposed to prevent cards from being comprimised.....At least the security measures in place at my credit union realized I couldn't be in 3 places at once :censored:

Yeah, no. Those chips are more trouble than
they're worth, IMO...

My first chip card was compromised in less than 3 days.  The second within a week.  Best thing I have done is quit storing my card details for my online bill payments and quit using them at gas stations.  I have one card with a small amount of credit that I use only for gas.  Almost a month and none of my other ones have been stolen.....yet.

Also, if you haven't done so....freeze your credit with all the major bureaus.  It costs a few bucks, but is worth it in the end for the peace of mind that they can't get you for more.

The tractor supply I work at just switched to them and I get an ear full from every customer I have to tell that they must use the chip in their card...

Thanks for all the new fishing gear. Don't worry I ordered you some packer stuff, and a mail order bride. Both should be on there this week.

I forgot about them countries. I was going to get him a lady boy. Then they would never fight over the toilet seat, but after buying a lot of fishing gear, and packer stuff for him. I was reaching his credit limit.

Easy on the catalog bride stuff... I got mine from Manila Brides, catalog 12, page 17....:P

I hate the chips. Takes way longer to process than the traditional swipe..

AND

obviously not safer..

The chip on two of my CCs simply cut through the card and fell off !  :angry7:

If they were stolen at a gas station were they not swiped at the pump? I have not seen any switched to the chip. When swipping the chip plays no part.

Gas pump shows to insert chip side in. I assumed it was reading the chip20160411_170538.jpg

Guy I work with just got back from a business trip to Orlando. Bunch of them were in a Disney resort place for dinner when one of them said "hey, someone just used my credit card". She had signed up to be notified of any card activity and sure enough, while they were eating someone in the restaurant stole her card number via an RFID scanner. My friend said three people from that same party had their CC hacked at the same time.

So I've been researching methods of protecting my cards because if it's that easy I might as well put em on my account!
