What do you prefer for fishing?

I thought the info might help whatever you're trying to learn.   For me, I do better with informed, first person opinions, reviews and experiences than I do with a 'poll' of limited choices that will almost certainly include selections by people who haven't even used the option they chose. How many people do you suppose have tried all six listed brands and can make a choice that gives you any valuable info?    

Apologies.  I'll butt out of your 'poll'.

For the poll, I chose 'other'.  But honestly, the only listed name above that I'd used before was Oakley.  So my poll choice isn't going to add much value.  I got mine for $40 from a tent outside the Army BX.  Lifetime warranty and better than any of the Oakleys that I've owned.

Is "yes" a choice?  I buy whatever polarized shades are cheap and look good.

Of the options listed, I've only used Wiley X and Oakley. I selected "other" because my favorite eyewear for fishing is Bolle. 

I've used Strike King S11 sunglasses the last couple years but seriously thinking about getting a pair of Costas.

I'm using the Oakley Radar EV Path. I changed out my lens that fit my need. Green is the best for river fishing, blue lens best when the lakes are clear and black is just a good overall daily lens. Of course they have to be polarized to see beneath the surface of the water.

I choose Costas which I currently use, but I've owned two different pairs of Maui Jims which are a very close second to Costas. I've also owned a pair of Oakleys and wouldnt rate them much better then some of the $50-$60 range.

I just got some costas and compared them to my roommate's s11s... The difference is unbelievable! Obviously it should be for the price, but still, I was very impressed with how much better the costas are. They say wearing costas is like "seeing in HD," which sounds cheesy, but that's actually very accurate. I could also see deeper into the water. I'd say go try some on at least. They are expensive though.

The polarization of Costas is second to none IMHO, love my fantails

I usually find a cheap pair of polarized sunglasses by the time I start my LMB fishing. I don't buy expensive sunglasses because they always get broken by the end of the year.

I'm with you. I buy like six at a time from Wally World. I keep two in the boat, two in the truck and two in my wife's car. I'm too rough on them to buy the good ones.

Oakley valve with prizm lenses. I can see so much stuff under water that the naked eye cant. Plus the tool truck sells them so i make payments lol

+2, I lose them or break them, my top price is $15. 

My favorite pair of Costas are at the bottom Lake Erie. If you find them, you found my spot on the spot on Seneca Shoals, lol. 

I've been using the same pair of H3O's since the mid nineties, they have three different color lenses, still work great, and whether there are better shades out there or not I see no reason to change.  I think i got my monies worth out of them,...lol, I do have a couple of strike kings for the kids or fishin buddies on the boat as well

 

I used to wear el cheapo sunglasses, because I thought you were only paying for the name with the expensive ones. I managed to stumble across a deal on some Costas that was too good to pass up so I splurged and holy crap they blew me away. They were every bit worth the price!

People choose the one pair they have used in polls like this.  You don't really get a comparison between all the choices.  I suspect all of the high dollar glasses are similar in quality.  

My eye doctor sells Kaenan and Maui Jim glasses so I wear Maui Jim prescription polarized sunglasses.  I like them, but it doesn't mean they are the best. 

I've used Smith and Maui Jim's and they are both very good. I would like to get a pair with interchangeable lenses though.

Im a true believer in Oakley. Never tried any other high end glasses, but plenty of the cheap ones. I think a huge deciding factor for many here is the ability to take care of them (or not). Fishing can be a very expensive sport (as we all know). I have owned three pair of sunglasses (all polarized) since high school (say around 1999). All 3 were oakley. The last pair has lasted around 11 years before the lenses started pitting. Last summer i purchased another pair of the Oakley 5 squared polarized. I only paid $65 for them. I still shop for deals but wont purchased just any old cheap glasses. Ive learned being out on the water is worth the good glasses.

I have a pair of Ray Bans because I got them as a prescription, I'm blind as a bat without a prescription.  If I had no prescription, I'd go Oakley all the way.

I have several pairs of Ray-Bans, including one with a few sets of interchangeable lenses.  The only digs on the interchangeable lens aviators is that they aren't as still/don't fit me as well as the standard aviators and that it is possible to accidentally pop lenses out (can scare the hell out of you).  They're much, much better than any cheap sunglasses I've owned, but also Bolle, Arnette, and Oakleys I've worn.  I've never tried Costas, but I've heard great things.  

Costa silver or green mirror lenses are hard to beat. 

The Man 'o War frames fit my giant grape nicely without being at risk of falling off. I don't use or need a lanyard for them. 

I have multiple pairs of Wiley X sunglasses and shooting glasses.

Besides the great polarization, I love how all Wiley X glasses are impact rated and many are even Ballistic rated.

So if you miss on the hook set and a big jig comes back and drills you in the face, at least your eyes are protected.
