lecisnith
Season lasts longer than 3 months, just the other 3 months or so you need to be fully clothed...
Super User A-Jay Posted May 28, 2016 Author Super User Share Posted May 28, 2016 True, but believe me - I need to always be clothed - Ain't nobody got time for that . . . A-Jay
lecisnith
By fully clothed I mean multi-layered. I think the last time I was out in either late October or early November I had thermal undies, nice work pants, two pairs of socks, tee shirt, long sleeve shirt, and a hoodie and after about an hour still put my coat on. And I wasn't miserable. Hard to be miserable when catching Great Lakes smallies.
Super User Further North Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 28, 2016 I fish from Ice out (This year that was late March) until the ice is thick enough to stop me from launching (usually sometime in November)...if I really wanted to I could fish the Mississippi through the winter...but it's a ways to travel and it's walleye fishing...not my thing. Super User Master Bait'r Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 28, 2016 Congrats Ajay!! That's a mean machine you got there, she's a dream boat for me personally too! What at a great all around boat. Talk about a do-it-all package, I absolutely love how they integrated the storage and functions in the Pro V. And that hull... Nice pick dude!! I even love the color! On May 27, 2016 at 9:43 PM, Darren. said: Congrats, mate! Sooooo, will your canoe be retired? Crazy talk! That's like saying "hey nice new rod/reel combo you got, you gonna throw away the other ones now?" ?
jbw252
I heard a rumor that the Smithsonian Institution was trying for an acquisition on that canoe...
Super User A-Jay Posted May 31, 2016 Author Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 It was a Memorial Day to remember for many reasons today. A-Jay
lecisnith
That looks an awful lot like Thumb. Last time I was there I accidentally left my buddy's truck running for two hours while we were out tooling around... I'm pretty envious. Was it everything you'd hoped for and more?
Super User A-Jay Posted May 31, 2016 Author Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 It's Otsego and I can't even describe to you how much I'm liking it. A-Jay
Super User kickerfish1 Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 Looks great! Now you have a big water rig and the yak for those more secluded smaller bodies of water.
Super User Goose52 Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 Man - that boat is so 'purdy' that the fish will probably want to just jump on board and go for a ride...
Super User A-Jay Posted May 31, 2016 Author Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 Thanks Goose, Funny though, this first trip my wife was on them pretty good but the "driver" was left fishless . . . Now ask me if I care ~ not today. A-Jay
Ski213
Been there done that. When I bought my current and first big boat I'm wanting to say it was the fifth trip before I hooked a fish. In hindsight I think it was because I was more concerned with boating than fishing. Loved every minute of getting blanked though, wouldn't change a thing.
Super User Further North Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 Outstanding, and thanks for the pictures. Love the layout and the way you've got it rigged. That boat would be as perfect here as it is there...and it's be the cat's PJs in Canada!
CDMeyer
Great looking boat, enjoy
Super User Senko lover Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 Very happy for you AJay! You've been sharing your dream of this for a while, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving person. That's one sexy looking boat.
Super User slonezp Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 A jay, I got a sign from God today. Was on my way home from the lake and a car pulls next to me. Asking about the predator. Turns out he was a Lund salesman. He gives me a catalog and his card and says he'll cut me one hell of a deal on a ProV bass if i trade in the Predator........
OperationEagle
Holy cow A-Jay. That is one heckuva ride. And just in time for the season. They did a nice job with that flush mounted Helix. I think you just defined "Do it once do it right."

Super User Further North Posted May 31, 2016 Super User Share Posted May 31, 2016 If you sell that Predator, folks will be lined up to buy it. Don't trade it in...that's what the sales guy is hoping. He wants that boat, better that the difference between trade in and market wind up in your pocket, not his.
Super User slonezp Posted June 1, 2016 Super User Share Posted June 1, 2016 I would never trade it. If I were to ever get rid of it I'd sell it outright. I've had multiple unsolicited offers for it already. A Jay may have been one of those offers.....j/k. I've actually been in close contact with both A Jay and Junk Fisherman for many years helping them look for used Predators. They have both bought great "all terrain" boats.
Super User Further North Posted June 1, 2016 Super User Share Posted June 1, 2016 You're on the right track, IMO. No way I'd sell my boat either...but it's really good to know that if something bad happens there's a great replacement in the form of the Pro-V Bass! Nice modeling of the HUK shirt...but in the future, I'd prefer what Brooke Thomas does for their gear...
"hamma"
wow! what a nice rig, congrats A-Jay,.. I saw this on a different thread but didnt know it was new for you,... Great choices for accessories as well., I hope and wish you nothing but great success on it. Break it in well and run it often. Seeing as you were in a canoe before this im thinking the canoe will collect a little dust before she gets wet again,.. and who could blame you, that sure is a beauty of a rig,.. Be safe and rip some lips!
