What is this...

Featured Replies

For the sake of chrismas, decided to run to D1cks for some fishing gear. I got myself some lures and hooks and while digging at the 1.50$ Big Bite Baits lures i found this thing.

What is this lure. Never saw this type of lure offered by Big Bite Baits.

Searched through Websites,Catalogs ETC but no luck.

Anybody has an idea what is this.1482258427619448024728.jpg

It looks to be some sort of soft jerkbait.

Yes, it's their version of a Fluke. I've tried them, but they don't sink fast enough IMO.

Definitely something to fish on a dropshot lol. Not sure of the name of the bait. And since they labeled it as such it could very well not even be a big bite bait. Try saying that fast 3x lol.

I dont thnk so mate. I have the BBB Jerk and it doesnt look even close to it.

Looks like a drop shot lure to me maybe something to put on a shakeyhead. I dig through that bin at my local dsg and it has a bunch of off color stick worms and brush hog style baits. I grab a pack or two when I see something I like.

That's hilarious I bought the exact same bait at dicks like 2 days ago. It was the only bag of them amongst a ton of other baits, I wanted a few more packs. Took them to the counter and the cashier said "hmm never seen that.....oughta work on a drop shot"

This sure looks like a Good Drop shot bait.

The bait is sure Super soft and salty and I can even tie a Knot with it. No joke.

The bait reminds me of a Keitech Sexy impact for sure.

We call that bait the "squirm".  It was made as a special order for one of our customers and is not in the current catalog.  You can only find it in special offerings like the one at Dick's.

ECOGEAR from Japan makes that bait, may have been made by Big Bite by special order but the manufacturer is ECOGEAR, the name of the bait is Power Minnow and it's a jerkbait.

You can find it at Ichibantackle.

This is not by ECOGEAR, they make a similar bait, but there are significant differences as this is not the same bait.

If I understand BBB's catalog/SKU numbering system - DSG-AST-BASS01 would translate to "Dick's Sporting Goods Assorted Bass Number 1."  There's probably a number 2, 3, and so on (or could be in the future).

*the retail never leaves you, lol.

I purchased a pack of that exact color and bait at dicks in the Big Bite bin..It feels like it is a type of bio bait as it feels different, I have not used them yet because I have too many flukes, but I am sure they will work. They have a different shape & if memory serves me correct they are labeled as an assortment pack but TW has them or did.

They kind of remind me of a Caffiene shad with a forked tail and much lighter. I am sure they catch fish, I liked the color & if I were to throw one, I would think they work well on the drop based on weight and shape this time of year especially.

Dip that tail in chart dye & you should be good to go....

Ok, I stand corrected, ECOGEAR manufactures an etremely similar bait called Power Minnow.

Just as Lake ForK Tackle manufactures a bait practically identical to Imakatsu´s Javallon.

Happy now ?

Drop shot bait. have used them a few times, they aren't the best

God Bless
