I get that.  The goal is to bring a new generation into the jazz loop.  Both drummer and pianist are established, legit jazz players.  As a drummer myself, I find the beat fascinating.  The drummer is working on a whole other grid, timekeeping wise, while still maintaining a stead 4/4 pulse.

 

You posted a really good one, I give it a 9.
