NW Ohio Introduction

Featured Replies

Hello from Oregon, OH. My name is Jason and I've been gleening information off of this site for about the last 9 months or so and decided I should join and introduce myself.

Grew up fishing lake Erie for walleye and perch. Joined the USAF, moved away from 92-02 and returned to the Toledo area where I was reintroduced to lake Erie...Still didn't do it for me.

Then one day, I threw a popper in a pond and it was on!  I was hooked on the bucket mouths!! That was last summer.

I've since amassed several rods and reels and loaded a tackle box with cranks, frogs, poppers, buzz baits, jigs, and a number of other lures.  To say the very least, I'm hooked.

At any rate, I look forward to picking  your brains and continuing to learn about this great sport from all of you.

Tight lines to you all,

Jason W

@TnRiver46 I'm about an hour from Defiance and about 30 minutes from downtown Maumee where the walleye run is thick in the spring.

Wow small world. My girlfriend grew up in Henry county. New Bavaria I guess, in a corn patch.

they mainly fish catfish there from what I understand but I have heard about that walleye run. I took a picture of the independence dam (?) last time I was up there
