I am looking for a grease to grease my hubs on my trailer before I make a 7 to 8 hour trip. And can I use that grease for my boat? What grease would you recommend??? This is the first time I grease the trailer sense I got it back in April.

Any synthetic heavy duty grease is good for all around.  Mobil one has one at walmart that should fit all your needs cheap.

Waterproof hub grease. Don't know that one brand is better than the other

If you're 'adding' grease to an exiting greased hub - using a grease that is compatible with what's in there now is important. Greases may be incompatible.  When different., aways push out old grease completely prior to applying new grease and putting equipment back into service. 

Over Based Calcium Sulfonate is a good one and fairly compatible with many types.

Yep, you mix them, you may wind up with soap in your hubs instead of grease.

Take them out, inspect them, clean and repack them, and replace the rear seal.

I hate repacking bearings, but burn one of them things up and you'll wish you'd just done it. Plus, when you're repacking them it allows you to inspect for potential problems.

Exactly, and while you have them out, go buy a extra bearing, seal and with some grease keep them in your boat/truck in case one does go out.

I have cheap version that goes on the end of a grease gun, makes a big difference, but I still hate doing it

I'm thankful I have the EZ Lube system on my trailer.  It is slick.  Jack up one end of an axle/wheel.  Pull the grease cap.  Plug on a grease gun.  Spin the wheel slowly and pump the gun.  The grease travels through the axle, coming out between the inner seal and the inner bearing.  As you pump, it forces the old grease out through the bearings, coming out the end of the shaft.  

 

Continue until there is very little or no old grease exiting the end of the axle.  Use a plastic spoon to scoop away the old grease as it appears.

 

Replace grease cap.  Lower the end of the axle.  Repeat on the other bearings.  Done.

This system has been around for years and works quite well. My 98 Champion trailer has this system. The newer trailers have oil bath hubs and they have mixed reviews, good service until a leak occurs, although I have no personal experience with them.

This may be a dumb question but how do you get the old grease out? I always just pumped till I saw the new grease coming out

I think that's all you can really do short of disassembly and cleaning.
