I don't mind a rod made in USA ,Japan,Malaysia,or Mexico but china really china?

You would be surprised to learn how many rods are made in China - most of them are. Economies of scale and all of that economics kind of talk. There are differences in the final rods, but a majority of the blanks come from the same place.  I believe in "buy USA" as much as anyone, but the world is becoming smaller by the day and our economies more intertwined. So, if a company makes a good product - it is a good product, no matter whose GDP it goes toward.  JMO

I noticed when I was shopping for my first baitcaster that the lews lfs is made in China and the tournament mb is made in Korea. I wonder why they use different locations?

It's a global economy and that's not going to change.  I would love to buy every product made in the USA but that's not the reality today. It's about design, materials, tooling and quality control.  Look at food labels closely. Chile, Mexico, Argentina, India, Pakistan, Canada, and so on.  I was happy some of my Diawas were made in Japan and not Malysia.

MADE IN WHATEVER COUNTRY IN THE FACE OF THE PLANET ( choose the name ) by X brand means that, it's the company the one who determines the quality of the product by choosing the components that will go into the manufacturing process, cheap components make cheap products NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE MADE.

I agree with you mostly, but Martha Stewart's recipe doesn't guarantee you one of her pies.
