My shimano chronarch is stained...

Featured Replies

So after 11 hours of flipping with red braid this is what my chornarch looks like. How should I go about cleaning it without damaging the paint on my reel?IMG_0143.thumb.JPG.b7741b2c2c233dff97b6eb0503c74282.JPG

LOL, that happened to my Quantum Accurists when

I used red Power Pro.

Should just wipe off without any harsh chemicals.

Try magic eraser very lightly.

That reel is toast, I'd toss it in the dumpster!   :angry7:

Don't you dare, I insist on paying all shipping charges :)

I'd be careful about that. I've had magic eraser take the gloss finish off appliances. I'd start with something a lot more mild.

I would start with something like '409' or 'Simple Green'.

3rd vote for Simple Green

Well I guess that answers the question " Does that line bleed its color?"  :lol-047:

Again 409 should not hurt the reel. I used that stuff to help clean up diesel fuel spills and stains in VERY expensive yachts. I would spray it on cloth liberally then wipe down the reel. Just lightly wipe it and it should be okay.

I guess what is more important to ask is "Did you catch any big ones?"

One of the reasons I hate braid an only use it for frogging and heavy slop fishing.

Not a fish in 11 hours of fishing

You're equipment is clearly busted, send it out to some us to confirm. It will be a hardship for us but we'll bare it for you.

Seriously that sucks, we all have those days. Me more often then not.

I have used that same line on a white reel and did not have this issue. Did you spray anything, such as lone conditioner, onto the line?

No I didn't do any.

With the red stain you are half way there! Just add a few red aftermarket parts like this to give it that custom look

HOLY S...... loook at all that blood ! :surprised-038:

Use some buffing compound on a rag, lightly rub on it and it will go away and be shiny!
