I've been fishing swim Jigs lately and having good success with them. I've never been much of a jig fisherman so my selection is pretty modest. Where I generally fish,  there is a lot of grass. I need some recommendations for some swim jigs that are good in grass.

I'm a big fan of swim jigs and Lethal Weapon IV's are the best I have found at coming through grass and weeds. They have a VERY pointed head design, and a pretty compact profile when swimming. The hooks and weed guard are lighter so I usually do not fish them around wood. The bait keeper is very good too so you don't need to worry about trailers coming off. I also like the Eco Pro Tungsten Sick Boy ones, they are a little heavier duty, still come through the weeds pretty well, and will be more versatile I think.

Siebert Outdoors has a few different swim jigs including a bullet head that work well in grass.Great quality, good value.

I'll second this.

X3 seibert outdoors jigs are some of the best quality jigs I've fished, and super easy on the wallet.

Gonna throw Dirty Jigs into the mix, their swim jig and finesse swim jigs are top notch. 1/4 and 3/8 are the only swim jig weights I use in new sexy shad or bluegill. I pair up the finesse with a little dipper and the full skirt with a 3.8 keitech inmpact fat.

All mentioned above are great jigs, the new 6th Sense jigs are awesome as well.

I forgot about these. They're beefier but all it takes is one twitch of the rod and they'll plow through whatever grass is in their way. They can double as punching jigs too.

I see that Siebert has several different swim jigs. Which one do you guys find you like best? I'm in upstate NY so I'm not looking at many 5lb+ fish.

I like the bullet head and the swim jig,The 3/8 and 1/2oz cover my needs

and will work fine for you, some folks prefer lighter or heavier. 3/8 is easy to swim and has a nice 5/0 hook. There's a few 5lbers in your neck of the woods.Good luck!

There are a quite a few makers that make great swim jigs. For grass, I like the Seibert bullet and finesse dirty the best. I think using the lightest one for the conditions goes a long way to getting bit, and getting them through or just over the grass.

This is key.

I recently got 2 Gambler swim jigs and really liked them. Fished them in pads, around hydrilla and reeds and didn't have any issues. Good skirts on them and caught some fish on it, strong hook too.

Lethal Weapon swim jigs.

OUTSTANDING hookup ratio, hand tied skirts, wire bait keeper, and good paint to boot.

I am a firm believer in the "lighter" hooks and weed guards on a swim jig.  Do you get snagged?  Sure, but I am very confident I would snag with a swim jig with a heavier week guard in the same cover.

Brovarney swim jigs are good too and slightly better in wood.  Still a very good hook and bait keeper, but the paint isn't as good as the lethal weapons.
