A $99.00 Fluorescent Green (number after 12) bait cast & spinning rod won  ICAST best of show in Orlando this week : Anyone know what the construction , action , weight , etc. that makes these new rods such a special value ?

Not much info out yet, but that colour is very green :) but I will definitely play with one when I see them in Stock.

Maybe the one everyone is waiting for?  A NRX equivalent 100 dollar rod!?

Basically if it were not green it would of never won

The freaking bat won best hard bait this year. Don't put too much stock into these awards. It's like the preseason rankings in college sports.

Yo peeps we need a hashtag after this years icast.

$40 dollar  buckets

bat lures, other BS.

@icastisalmostagoodlaugh.

I remember when the topwater sunfish won hahahahaha worst lure ever

All I can think of is when Arnold Schwarzenegger tells the alien in Predator "You are one ugly mother...."

Fishing rods should be black or dark gray. All other colors are an abomination.

So very true. I have avoided rods I wanted to try due to them being white.

I like green, but that is a little too far with the green  for me lol.

(Shudder)

No thank you. I would consider a  muted green or a dark green.

But I will not be fishing with anything that might be confused at a distance for a ninja-turtle Kid Caster.

I agree but I picked up a purple rod from DSG from the  Lady Guide series ,that has found its way in the four rods I carry for fishing from a small  jon boat . It is my prettiest rod .

I'll be honest I really like that zombie green....on my ice fishing rods and spider rigging rods lol other then that im more of a black and yellow guy go Steelers

I'm painting the blades of my ceiling fan the same color.  Same goes for boat cleats and the inside of my truck's tailgate. That is a bold statement to the fishing industry.  How bout a Fresca?  Hmmmmmmmmmmm?  I used to wear red socks but the hummingbirds kept molesting my ankles.

I agree. A hunter green would have worked out.

I checked out these fishing rods at Icast and was not impressed at all. It felt really cheap and I think it should be sold as a ninja turtle or hulk rod/reel combo for 60 bucks. There were much better rods that should have won.

Bright green huh? Looks like they are just copying off the Powell Nusance. Seriously though, I kind of like the color, I'm just not a big fan of the company in question's products

I was amazed this rod won over the new GLoomis Conquest rod....

At least the new Curado beat out the new "bearing-less" bright orange reel they have (even though it does have a bearing in it).

Who votes for these awards? Colors aren't a deal breaker for me but I would be lying if I said the neon green didn't make me cringe. $100 rod with a one year warranty, I'll pass, especially with that colorway.
