My truck was stolen!!!!!

You have two physical damage claims:

First - collision or upset for that deductible to take care of what he hit with the truck.

Second - comprehensive perils to apply to the burned seat, tires, battery, etc.

Each of these has its own deductible.

Try to get Progressive to use only the collision deductible for repairs and forgive the comp deductible.

As stated above, take truck to your favorite repair shop and the dealer to get two estimates. Submit the estimates to Progressive.

Good luck. You will need it dealing with Progressive.

Glad it turned out ok.

i had a 79 Chevy c20 with a rack body. They wouldn’t steal it they would probably leave money on the seat for me to replace it. Lol I sold it for $250 for parts.

Can't you go after the guy who stole the truck to make him pay for the damages?

Yes, the DA in both counties where he will be charged will put restitution on his bail.

Also, I will be taking it in Thursday to my shop to have him get an estimate for me. I will be done with Progressive as soon as this is done. My truck had already been looked at by an agent and the claim rep. called me to tell me my truck had been recovered. I was like, No S+++, ya'll have had it for 4 days.

Another update. Took it to my guy yesterday. On top of what was already on the claim he said the upper a arms were shot, lower ball joints and cv axles from being driven on the highway in 4wd. He said I would be lucky if my transfer case was still good. He quoted me $1,700 to fix it. I sent the quote to my adjuster and he told me that I was basically dealing with wear and tear items and they probably wouldn't cover it. I went and bought the parts and replaced them today. Good thing I'm mechanically inclined as I saved myself about $1,000.

Ready to be done with this and done with Progressive.

Progressive is one of the worst out there for this kind of crap.  They pulled the same thing on me when a grandma rear ended me on my bike the week before Christmas 2006.  Nickle and dimed me to death on top of using the wrong parts in their estimate (I was a H-D tech then and could do all my own repairs).  And they were MY insurance company since she didn't have the correct insurance paperwork at the time of the accident.   I'll NEVER have them again as an insurance company.

Glad you got your truck back but sorry it's in such bad shape.  Makes ya want to tie the SOB to the back bumper and drag him 400 miles...

Your insurance company needs to go after this guy for the cost of repairs.

glad you ended up with a happy ending. how ever it is sad to see the lack of respect  some of the younger generation seem to have lost

Sorry you had to go through all this. I hope you’re back on the road soon.

I had no idea that progressive was so bad until Christmas eve. Guy hit my truck and ran off. Passenger rear panel is pretty much ruined along with the rear bumper. They made me do a photo/video estimate and wouldn't even send someone out. They quoted me at $1700 total minus deductible. Lowest quote I got from a shop was almost $3k. Done with them next renewal as well.
