Hello everyone, just wanted to say hello.  I had heard of this site before but never really took the time to check it out, man am I glad I did.  It has what looks to be like piles of information and a forum that appears to be active.

I sold my boat about 10 or so years ago when I discovered kayak fishing, I've never looked back.  Anyway, kayak fishing has exploded over the last decade and is growing at a rapid rate.  I just fished the KBF National Championship on Kentucky Lake where Dwayne Taff took home 100 grand for fist place.  For me that was an epic trip where i got to meet up with some friends and I made so many new ones.  I hope to qualify for that tournament again in the future.

Last year I became a competitive kayak angler.  I had never fished competitively and it is causing me to become a better angler.  My thirst for knowledge continues to grow and all I seem to think about is bass fishing.  I had a few top ten finishes last year and placed 4th in one of them.  I ended up landing a pro staff spot with Bayou Bug Jigs for the 2018 season and I couldn't be happier.  To see the sport I love grow like this has been amazing, I cant wait to see where it goes.

I live about an hour west of Richmond, Virginia with my small family.  It's out in the country, but I kind of like that.  I am a Former Marine, Former Police Officer, and currently work as a Firefighter/EMT with Chesterfield County, VA.

I hope to pick up some valuable information here and hopefully become a contributing member.  Thanks for having me.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!  The big tournament was through kayakbassfishing.com.  You qualify for the National Championship by placing in other tournaments through the year, then you pay $300.

Amelia or Cumberland perhaps?

Anyway, welcome to BR from a Chesterfield County resident.
