Greetings from NYC

Featured Replies

Hi all. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've been fishing for a couple years now in the New York City area and after trying a few things have come to the resounding conclusion that I'm pretty much strictly a Largemouth Bass fisherman and that it was time to join up.

I grew up occassionally fishing in the salt, but fishing bait never really took for me. There's just something that I really enjoy about working a lure vs. soaking a bait and Bass fishing really opened my eyes due to the numerous techniques used to catch fish. Like many, my favorite way to fish is topwater, but I always seem to fall back to my trusty spinnerbaits. I've tried a lot of techniques and lures and am starting to circle back to the classics. I have yet to catch one on an original Zara Spook and have been trying for a while to catch on a frog or toad. Hopefully will come in time and gives me something to look forward to.

Anyway, if you see a guy struggling to catch on a frog at one of the NYC Lakes, it's probably me. Say hi, I'm always down to chat. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn from and hopefully eventually contribute to the Bass Resource community.

Hi, that was a great intro, I should have had you right mine lol. I’m very simmalar to you haven’t fished since I was a kid now I’m all in trying to learn stuff. Soft plastics has been the bait for me this summer hard not to get a bite on them if you haven’t tried them yet.
