New to bass fishing in southern AZ

Featured Replies

What’s up guys? New to bass fishing (especially bait casting gear) and eager to learn. Usually fish southern AZ lakes from my 16’ canoe or community lakes around Tucson from shore. Feel free to send any need to info my way.

Thanks guys. Great website and awesome community you’ve all built here. Super glad I found it.

I’ve been fishing a local lake (Kennedy) here in Tucson a couple days/week in the late afternoon/early evening. But despite my persistence, I continue to get skunked. Other bass guys I come into contact with (usually carrying an ugly stick or similar casting combo) always make claims of “5 or 6 bass”. Mostly on “plastics”. So I fish mostly plastic worms split shot on spinning gear, or larger plastics (space monkeys, mag bugs, etc.) T-Rigged on MH casting gear, to no avail. ?‍♂️

Could these kind strangers be putting me on?? Am I missing something? Or am I just “holding my mouth wrong?”?

Thanks again guys.
