New here from north Georgia. Mainly fish smaller waters due to not having a boat at the moment but will fish bigger reservoirs occasionally. Bank fishing big lakes can be frustrating, but bank fishing anywhere can be also so I try to make the best of it. Enjoy reading all the great content that’s put on here.

Savannah isn’t too far, man. What lakes are you referring to? There are quite a bit. Lanier, Carters, Allatoona.. just to name a few.

There are quite a bit.  Sinclair is the closest water I have to me of any size followed by Clark's Hill.  Sinclair is two hours away, Clark's Hill is two and a half.

Any person that enjoys bass fishing should visit Georgia. The state has the most black bass species of anywhere in the world with some black bass species that you can only catch in Georgia. There are plenty of big largemouth bass for those looking for a new PB. Had a great time earlier this month fishing in Georgia and will definitely visit again.

Yep!  Catch five in a year and the DNR will send you a bass slam placard.   It's a pretty sweet little program and I'll eventually knock that out.  I've only caught largemouth.

Dang, not too bad but still a good drive. I’m almost right in between Lanier and Allatoona. About 25 minutes west to Allatoona/Etowah mouth, 20 minutes east to Lanier. Carters isnt too far from me either. We also have a couple decent sized electric motor only reservoirs which I’ll definitely be hitting up come spring. Hickory Log creek and Hollis Q. Lathem. 

I want to try the Hard Labor Creek reservoir sometime in the future, I wish I could have hit it right after it opened.  I remember a 12 or 13 being pulled from there shortly after it opened.

 

I'm still jealous you're so close to big water, we can't be friends.

I agree, so jealous of that big water with schools and schools of bass. I'm stuck jumping stumps in the Altamaha River! 

 

I have been to Clark's hill, put in at Elijah Clark state park. So weird to fish, virtually no bank structure and blue back herring. Way out of my element.

 

Lanier is on my to-fish list for largemouth and Allatoona for Spots. 

 

I fish the Satilla river, Suwanee river, Altamha river, and St. Mary's river. 

I fish the Ogeechee river, the Canoochee river, the Savannah river and the Altamaha.

 

Plus a couple ponds around the house.  ?

River rat, I have fished the Ohoopee and Ocmulgee a couple times as well. Gotta love Ga river bass! ?

Nothing a short drive north can’t fix fellas. Should have the jon boat water-ready by spring. if y’all ever want to come up to fish just hit me up on here.. I’m sure we could make something happen.

A little late but I just read this.  I'm from the Gainesville area and fish Lanier and all the northern rivers almost daily.  I've gotten the "GA bass slam" the past couple years.  I moved from So CA 20 years ago where I fished mostly in the Pacific, but sometimes in the local lakes, Castaic and Piru, and the Sierras for trout.  I usually fish alone but if someone wants to join me it's OK.  I have a boat and a kayak.
