Noob in NC

Featured Replies

Greetings from the Yadkin River Chain area of North Carolina and thanks for having me!

I grew up on the south west side of Lake Okeechobee in Florida, riding & racing motorcycles as well as fishing the canals in the area and the lake.  Jobs and family responsibilities had me move to south Texas and ultimately here to NC where we decided to park and call it home.  Motorcycles were and are a passion but in the last year or so the urge to get back to chasing green fish took hold, long story short, I took delivery of a 2018 Triton 189 TRX on October 15th and have been having a ball getting reacquainted with fishing.

So far due to weather, work and life I've only been on the water 4 times with it but man, like I said, it's been enjoyable not only on the water but getting the boat set up and gathering up gear.  The weather looks good for the weekend so the plan is to either try the south end of High Rock, go back to Tuckertown or try out Badin for the 1st time.

Looking forward to lurking the forum and picking up info, might even post a bit from time to time.

Greetings Bruce and welcome to the forums...

Welcome, Bruce.

Those are my home lakes you’ll be fishing.  I grew up down there and love fishing them.

You’re going to have a blast in April!
