Virginia, North Carolina and up the east coast towards DC may be getting a serious snow and ice storm the weekend of January 12th, beginning Saturday afternoon and going into Monday.

After this I think the south will surpass Michigan at least in snow total for the year (central Michigan anyways) we haven't gotten squat for snow. 

Bring it!!  If it's gonna snow, let it unload.  

My kids are excited....me not so much except I will be putting on a huge crock of chili Friday night.

It is supposed to hit here too.I don't know why it doesn't go up north. A-Jay and 12pound bass are used to it. Or it could go south to Catt. He is so far south he doesn't know what snow is except in pictures or on tv. LOL.

I am thinking of a gumbo.

 

Need two pounds of shrimp and one pound of crab meat plus the "trinity" and lots of bay leaves.

 

Have the Canola and flour for the roux.

 

Need to make it Friday night and let it sit in the refrigerator for 12 hours to blend together.

It will be cold but the participation is thought to start in the late afternoon on Saturday.

In one way or another i have been unable to go out to set up my new fishfinder for the past three weekends this weekend im determined to go rain or shine, hell or high water im gonna go ??

Went to the grocery store last night, they had all their pallets out ready to stock up the shelves.  No doubt they're sold out of all milk, toilet paper today....for 1" of snow.

Well, we got wolloped pretty good.  I got around 10 inches and it was mixed at times with sleet.  Shoveled the driveway 3 times.  Government closed yesterday and I am teleworking today.  Balmy 11 degrees when I got up this morning and we could slammed again this weekend.  Guess my crappie fishing is on hold unless I want to sit on a bucket on the ice.

We haven't gotten any snow, but just coming out of a deep freeze.  Had some high single digits, but back around freezing today.

We got ice in Richmond.

 

Only about an inch of the ice so we lucked out.

 

Another storm heading our way for Sunday and maybe into Monday.

 

Then the cold moves into the Atlantic states until the end of January.

Read where DT today agreed with a WAPO article that explained the splitting of the Polar Vortex and what it means for us.....Snowy and frigid through February at least.  Extreeeemly cold.

Well we went out on a local lake just for a bit... Didnt do any fishing but i did get to use my side imaging which was a trip for sure. it was cool looking at the crappies or white perch stacked on a bridge piling. Cant wait to take it out and do some fishing. 

Also i enjoyed warming up in the truck after we got off the water ???
