Black Grape vs Gooseberry

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I was interested in throwing a purple worm (trick worm, ribbon tail) more often this year.  What are the differences/similarities between Zooms black grape and gooseberry?

For those of you that used both, has one been more productive than the other and if so, under what conditions?

How different/similar are these colors compared to Junebug?

Thanks.

It may vary by manufacture, but a grape worm was my fave for 20 yrs. Not sure about gooseberry?, but grape in various shades has always been good

@Revival,

Go to the Zoom Bait Company (zoombait.com) website to see the colors.

Junebug looks like it has bigger flakes than Gooseberry.  Black Grape has no flakes.

I have already looked at every picture possible including the ones on zooms website.  Didn’t really give me the info I was looking for as it’s hard to see the details in stock pics.  Was just looking for some feedback from people with experience with these colors.

It's that hard for you to see with your eyes in a picture, imagine how hard it is for a bass to tell the difference under water.

Pictures are a poor way to judge the differences in colors!

Junebug, Black Grape, & Gooseberry are variations violet since purple is not found on the original color spectrum.

Of the three I've had better luck with Gooseberry.

Ive done real well with junebug , esp in lower light conditions. Ive caught a lot of fish with black grape using worms other than trick worms.

I have good luck with black grape and junebug.  I've never tried gooseberry.
