Who uses Junebug worms

I don't have access to my logs right now but I'm pretty sure Junebug would be the top producer in terms of number of bass caught on plastics in the last 20 years.  I've caught some good bass on JB but I don't think any of my top 10 bass were caught on it.

June bug is basically black grape with green flake and very popular in Florida. It's an excellent color for call types of soft plastics.

Junebug in Florida? That's a secret.

Here's my list of junebug plastics I have:

4", 5", 6", 7" Stickbaits (some GY Senkos and others Gambler FAT Aces)

12" Mann's Jelly Worm

6" & 7.5" Gambler Burner Worms

7" & 10" Ribbontails (Berkley Powerbait and Gambler)

Gambler EZ Swimmer, Big-EZ, Super Stud, Flapp'n'Shad, BB Cricket, Why Not, Ugly Otter, and Mega Daddy.

I also have junebug skirts for a bulkier Texas/weedless jig rig and for pitching/punching.

Mike at Siebert Outdoors makes a junebug and black/blue combo skirt called 24/7 that I have on my flipping jigs and swim jigs.

You need a few choices ;), look at Upton's Customs Junebug and Zoom G-Tails.

I really thought it was gonna beat 7-2.  No matter, thing fought like a beast.  Was using a spinning rod with 15# Power Pro and an 8# Seaguar Blue Label leader.  Three drag screaming runs, a couple splashes and got her lipped.  Caught several big fish that day.

I use junebug worms a lot. I use Zoom u tale, mag 2, and ol monster worms. I haven't had much luck with brush hogs and baby brush hogs in that color.

Junebug is my favorite in any stained water.

Ole Monster

Trick worm

Craw

Every product maker has their version of "Junebug", but my favorite on the murky Potomac is Gary Yamamoto's #203.  That color is vibrant in the water, but not too much.

Junebug is one of my favorite colors in the spring.

I had ton of success on Junebug senkos when I used to fish at night.

I plan on fishing Junebug/Purple a lot more this year.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up!!!

I have some Upton's Customs, but they are in black grape colors. Gonna have to start looking for more junebug. :lol1:

Off topic, Upton's black grape with blue neon vain is a good color, his junebug is basically the same with blue and green flakes added.

If I'm punching mats. 100% of the time there is 1 or 2 baits on my deck with a Junebug bait. A junebug Gambler BB Cricket has done some major damage for me. If I'm flipping a lizard, or Carolina rigging a lizard. First color I try is Junebug. If I'm flipping a green pumpkin jig, more times than not it has a junebug colored trailer. There are some days where a junebug Zoom centipede on a finesse Carolina rig seems like cheating. I prefer junebug over black an blue every single day of the week.

I don't think I have found a bait in the Junebug color that doesn't work.  Its probably, for me, the most versatile color out there.  It catches fish all year round.

I try to carry only 2 colors of any given plastic and the "Junebug or Black" debate keeps me up at night.  The "Green-pumpkin or Watermelon" one is easy as you can get a laminate of them in most plastics, but I cannot settle the Junebug/Black question.
