Informative: No your lure isn't too big, and yes bass eat bass.

A bass tries to swallow another bass almost the same size as it. Such a cool video.

Funny timing of this post.  I just caught this bass eating a bass yesterday.  The bass I hooked was probably about 2lbs and the tail in its mouth appeared to belong to a roughly 7-8 inch bass.  This made me rethink about how I tend to size down my baits on this small pond.

Found these fish flopping around in the lake. Was able to separate them and they swam off.20181125_150139-1288x966.jpg20181125_150423-966x1288.jpg

We may be crazy but you’ll retire here...with a Lincoln town car, eat at Denny’s for the early bird, play from the front tees and get ripped on scotch.

Fish don't have any idea how big they are (or aren't). Only way to find out if they can eat something is to try.

Hahahah! Nah I’m already close to moving into my retirement lake house. I will just have to live there and still go to work.......

crazy!  I fish swimbaits a lot. Love 8 inch spooks, my biggest bait is 15 inches! its a wooden snake.
I caught a 1.5lbs fish on an 8.5 inch wake bait the other day

A few years ago my wife and I were walking along the docks at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson at the Marina. You could see a school of 5-6 inch baby swimming around in the shallows. Suddenly, a giant Bass came out of the deeper water and swallowed one of the little ones. Well the look on her face was priceless including the "OMG! They eat their own?" ?
