Best Swimbait Reel

Featured Replies

im looking into a Swimbait reel to go with my new rod. What are some good options?

Daiwa Luna, or ryoga.  If your rod is a nice one look at a lin 10.

What rod? Do you prefer round or low price reels?

I’m not sure, never thrown big Swimbaits or used round reels.

Are we talking large swimbaits in the 1-6oz range? Or smaller keitechs under an ounce?

For anything above 3oz:

Round: Calcutta Conquest 300/400
Flat: Tranx 300/400

Large, probably mostly 2-4 ounces.

The OP clearly stated he doesn't like round reels.

Shimano 300 series Tranx a top of the line low profile reel and a excellent choice for swimbaits. Calcutta D is a round reel and excellent swimbait reel.
