YES! FINALLY!

Featured Replies

Yes! For us here in the northern hemisphere, it is the shortest day of the year. After today, we slowly start tilting back towards the sun. Our days will, little by little, begin to gain daylight. Get ready bass! You need to start thinking about the pre spawn! For the rest of you, start exercising so you'll look good in your swimsuits.

Ahhh, the seasonal winter worn has turned. Boat goes in the shop next month for a tune-up as the pre-spawn wheels start to roll...

Still a long time to go. Bring on the heat, this southern boy is freezing!!! ?

I'ts December 21st. The ice just formed for good outside my front door on the lake where I live. It will progressively get 3-4 ft thick over the next several weeks. It will leave around mid April. It's beautiful here. They stock the lake with trout and salmon in the fall. Those fish will grow and be ready to catch in the spring, deep. Then the bass will run a little later on.

Southern Maine. We have it good. Northern Maine on the other hand, on the Canadian border will have thicker Ice that will form earlier and last longer. We Southerners feel mighty lucky to be living in the warmer climate. It was 6 degrees yesterday.
