Has anyone seen or used KastKing's newest rod rack? Seems like a great idea to me, a good solution to storing rods inside.

 

I'd like to see how it looks full of combos and if it can store rods with rod sleeves on. 

 

I have one of kast Kings aluminum floor rod racks and I really like it - but I may be getting one (or two) of these in the future if they work well and as intended.

Yes from a facebook post it can store rods with sleeves. 

 

Not big on their reels but this looks like a pretty good idea.  

 

I have rod rock in my garage and that is always the issue..... You can't store two rods next to each other, therefore a rod holder with 12 spots only holds 6.

Same here, the floor rack I have fits 22 rods I think, but you'll only get a little over 12 combos and that's if you place them in strategicly.

I wrestled with rig set up and settled on a peg board system. An 8’x 4’ peg board with 8” to 12” shelf hangers (Amazon). You can put 2-3 rigs on each row. I built a shelf underneath the peg board that I put plastic storage containers with baits and tackle on. Below the shelf there is still room for other items if more space is needed.

What happens when your $900 combo slides out over time? I'm assuming there is nothing supporting the butt end of the rod. I'd think at some point slipping could happen?

I don't care what brand the holder is. I would never suspend a $900 combo from any rack with out bottom support.

Hanging a $900 combo on a $15 rod rack? Kind of like parking your Maserati on the street

 

If I had a $900 combo it would be stored in the bed in my spare bedroom. 

 

 

Looks great for storing rods, but not great for storing combos!

 

I built this rack out of plywood.  Cost ~$40 including the stain/polyurethane.  Was very satisfied with it...until I got too many combos to fit.  Working on a replacement now that is 6ft long instead of 4ft!

Very nice! You should patent it!

Combo storage is a big issue for me and something that needs to be addressed in the next round of presidential campaigns ?

Someone actually does that in the heart of Seattle where I work. On the streets, and it could easily be broken into in seconds. The person must have enough cash to not worry about it... at all. Hats off!
