Not currently in the market, but I Have noticed a lack of 5.x:1 gear ration reels, even more so in the left hand models. I have only seen the Abu Winch with a lefty 5:1 retrieve, but the reviews don't look too good. I can't seem to understand why they'd make a gear ration for one retrieve and not the other...

I have noticed this too. As I use lefty reels. Seems about the only reels I can find are the high price round reels in 5:1..  It maybe that the 6 to 8 speed reels are so popular now, compared to years ago, that they may not sell to well, and the manufactures have stopped making them.?

While I do not use left handed casting reels,

the Shimano Calcutta 200D is a killer Cranking reel (I have several)

 and is totally available with the handle on the wrong side. (CT201D)

Yup, and the Calcutta starts at 350.00..Great reels, but maybe a bit spendy for those who have a limited income.

Price isn't the problem for me but the Calcutta 200 is a bit heavy for my liking. The Calcutta reels are great reels! But I find other options more attractive for my application.

The Calcutta 200 weighs 9.4 oz, I have setups that way less lol. All kidding a side, I prefer a Tatula 150, Curado DC

I collect non-round reels lol. No need for an anchor. I have power poles !

I agree that the 9.4 oz Calcutta is a bit heavier than I would want on a rod that I am casting all day. Especially on a longer rod, you will notice fatigue if it isn't balanced right...

100% agreed. Round reels are excellent reels and hard to beat up but man they are heavier.

Revo EXD is another option. It's a nice reel. I have been cranking with it and been impressed. Lightweight and is a solid performer.

will probably go with the Revolution x, not gonna be an everyday rod so I don't need to ball out.

 I just got a Revo X in the 5.4.1 gear ratio and was pretty impressed with it's casting.

The Shimano Bantam MGL is available in 5.5:1 in Japan. Japan Tackle has them in lefty. I haven't used it so I can't give you feedback on this specific reel, but it's another option for you.

I use a Shimano Calcutta 200d. Upgraded from a Gen3 Winch after reading @A-Jay's review. It's a little bit heavier, but it's an awesome reel. The side plate is smaller on the palming side so you barely notice it's round. It's the smoothest reel I own. I liked it so much I bought another 200d and a 300d. 

Round reels - Daiwa Luna or a Shimano Calcutta.

 

I also believe Kastking has some models

I think it will do just fine as I will only be using the reel in certain occasions. I don't deep crank much at the moment so I don't anticipate getting super into it right away. That bantam MGL looks awesome. If I ever upgrade I know where im going..

Revo Toro Beast 4.9:1, Abu Garcia Maxtoro 5.3:1, Revo Beast 5.8:1, Revo X 5.4:1, KastKing Kapstan 5.4:1 are a few I saw looking through TW's website.

This is a great lefty cranking reel(4:9:1) but its pricey, Tackle Trap had it for $165 a few weeks ago.
