Hey BR,

As some of you have seen I made a topic a couple days ago about a Budget swimbait combo I was hoping to get for my birthday. I decided to go with a really budget rod and reel since money has been tight here. A couple hours later I get a message asking me if I was in a fan of round reels, I said yes since I have one that I got on sale, I talked about how I use it for catfishing and Alabama rigs. He talked about the Shimano Cardiff 300a and said to let him know if he was interested. I was thinking that he was trying to sell me one, I said I couldn't really spend money right now because my mom might be needing to file for unemployment, and my parents are also divorced. He said "Promise me you'll use it and aren't planning on selling it" I got a bit suspicious. In responded saying how there is no point in owning a $100 swimbait and keeping it for display. He asked me for my name and address, I gave it to him since I might buy it later. A couple minuets later I get a message saying "Happy birthday"

I was shocked, I honestly couldn't believe it. I thank him many times, I asked how I could repay him for this amazing gift. He replies

I will never forget this, thank you so much,

This type of thing happens here. I've gotten a couple 'care packages' from other members, including the reel that's on my finesse rig and 4 long-sleeve fishing shirts.

Members here are awesome.

That man was very kind to give you that reel for your birthday. I hope you have fun fishing with that reel and catch lots of nice fish with it.

That's awesome and was mighty generous of this member. I hope that reel catches you many big fish!

There are still great people all over this world, but pushing those stories doesn't pay the bills!

Agreed, but a bass fishing forum hardly qualifies as “pushing”.

?

The guys on this site are really amazing.  I've had guys offer me an old reel and some baits they don't use anymore.  I'm not talking about junk either.  All the stuff received is great stuff and usable for years to come.

OP, seems like you really deserve that reel.  Hope you enjoy it and catch some good ones with it.  congrats!!

@Glenn we need a LOVE button on here!  The like button just dont do this thread justice.  Jk buddy.  I'm just excited

I just love this thread.  It made this old dog smile.  Such a generous act and a gracious and grateful response.

Now Martin, the next pics need to be a big smile while you're holding a fish from these baits.
