Summer Bass Fishing in Rivers

Featured Replies

Nicely done, I always forget about tubes and get hung up fishing crankbaits and jigs of various kinds, I think I'll make it a point to go pick some up soon, great info and great video, thanks!

For someone getting into river fishing, this video is 24K gold. Everything I've learned in 35 years of river fishing is here .... especially fishing the current breaks, also called "curtains" because underneath the surface, the current shear billows out like a curtain in the breeze and changes shape and location.

I like the statement about the inevitability of losing lures. As bad as it is for boatmen, think of how it is for us shorecasters!    ?

I've been exclusively fishing creeks and rivers this spring and summer but in preparation for a future trip to Lake Nipissing in August I've been throwing spoons on heavy tackle in my local river.

Guess what - smallies love a daredevil spoon!

Now that just breaks my heart! Mine is typically on January 1 and my last one is usually December 31

Most people fish lakes here, not rivers.  Since we're the land of 10,000 lakes.  I don't really know why more people don't fish rivers but they are an under-fished resource that often has better fishing than lakes do, especially in the warm summer months.

That’s some good info
