Which weather would you choose

Featured Replies

Please take a look at this forecast.  I am totally open to fishing either Thursday or Friday from about 5am to 1pm.  I'm leaning toward Thursday because the the barometer is lower and it's closest to the initial drop of the barometer.  I am fishing a lake that has absolutely no shelter so I'm likely to get wet but I feel like getting out as close to the beginning drop of the barometer is going to be best, plus the temp is dropping and it shouldn't have any effect on the fish in the first day of the drop but it could by Friday.

The black line is the barometer and the blue line with the arrows is the wind speed.  Would you choose one day over the other?  If so, why?  Thanks

Update:  I would also prefer to fish before the bottom drops out but it’s not possible. Also, I just talked with a guy much more experienced on the lake I was headed to and he told me NOT to go to that lake on Thursday. So I will either pick a different lake for Thursday or go on Friday

I'd rather fish before the storms.

It's almost always better before storms than it is after.

Between thurs and Fri if I'm in a big boat or bank fishing I'd go thurs . If I was in a little aluminum boat and fishing the elec motor only lake I visit often Fri . I dont want to get caught in a thunderstorm and unable to make a hasty retreat  .

When are the storms coming on Thursday? If they are arriving mid to late afternoon I'd head out Thursday morning if I could not get out there on Wednesday.

I don't mess around when it comes to thunderstorms which can be difficult in the summer here in the south. I was going to rent a kayak today but we were supposed to have storms roll in by noon. Here it is almost 4 pm and they still have not appeared. Bummer.

I’ve had a thunderstorm form over the lake before. I’d go Friday.

My forecast was the same and I went Friday .  Overcast all day , mild temps , a few sprinkles and the bass were biting . Best day of the year so far . Caught 73 bass with perhaps a dozen over the 15 inch min .

Okay again, anywhere within 100 miles of me a year with 73 bass is a good year.  And that's fishing every week.  Wow.  I need to travel.

Thunderstorms are nasty, I'd definitely try to go before, post front conditions are awful to fish, despite what ever "youtube fishing experts with tips" say, we're getting storms tomorrow afternoon but I'm fishing today and tomorrow morning. Hopefully should get on some myself.

with a falling barometer and a front/storm on the way is when I experienced some of the best fishing i've ever experienced ...

awesome ...

good fishing ...

Good lord......I need to cross the state and come fish with you!  The thread I posted about killing it on a Pit Boss was about a 25-30 fish, 10 hour day.  I thought I was hammerin them!

I went twice in six days and caught 120 bass . maybe two under 12 inches . The cool weather set that little lake on fire .Plastic worms in the brush and spinnerbaits traveling from brushpile to brushpile . Easy pickings . Caught a few on Ribbets too .

That will boost your yearly total numbers quickly....?
