Problem With Site

Featured Replies

Beginning yesterday afternoon I started having problems with the Notifications area. I was able to access it and view replies until late afternoon. Then I started getting notified that: You do not have permission to view this content. Error Code  2F173/F. This happened on notifications I had previously accessed and appears to only affect those for Monday. I was able to open them for Sunday.

I sent a message and got a response that I should check my settings, clear the cache, and history. I did this and the problem persists.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks....Joe

This happens occasionally to me - when it does, I also clear 'Offline Website Data' and 'Cookies' - that usually clears it up.

Thank you MN Fisher! I was able to open the notification from you, ones from Monday are still unavailable.

Might still be a hangup in memory - clear your data, close the browser, then restart it.

Okay. The two topics related to the notifications glitch, New Scale and Favorite Zoom Bait, have disappeared also.

Did a search - can't even find those topics anymore...might have been deleted, which would be why you can't find them through notifications.

I thought of that too. Can't recall anything wrong with them that would cause that except maybe a product name, that happens all the time. Well my problem appears to be fixed, won't take up anymore of your time.

Thanks again!

The ex-member was removed and all his posts were expunged.

Thought it might be something like that, Kent.

What's that...3 'spammers' in the last couple months now?

No, more like 20+. We get them almost every day. Most of them are "hit and run",

but occasionally a troll will stick around for awhile.

I think I was just counting the trolls - I probably don't even see the 'pass-by-shooters'.

It's a never ending battle that gets worse as the weather gets colder, for some reason.

Shorter days, longer nights and more time indoors with nothing better to do.

BTW - I don't envy you mods. You have your work cut out for you.

Guess I should say, "Thanks!"           jj

Thing is...this has been a thing every since the start of message boards. I moderated a discussion topic on the old Use-Net (anyone remember that), and we were tossing people right and left. Later years I was a co-moderator for a couple Facebook groups...again, people tossed with alarming regularity. Now I wouldn't moderate a forum/discussion group if you paid me.

Mods and Glenn do a bang-up job here, and having been through it myself, I appreciate all they do.

Thankfully, there’s many more friendly members than the few deleted spam posts.

Error code 2F173/F simply means the topic was removed.  You're not banned, and there's nothing wrong with the site.

We had a couple of back-to-back trolls try to stir things up. We simply cleaned up some troll fodder.  All is well now.

From what I researched Winter has come early to many northern states. This means more people will be online posting.

Shhh....don't tell them.

We don't kiss and tell, or discuss this stuff on the boards.
