Irish Whiskey drinkers...

Looking for some suggestions beyond basic old Bush mills and Jameson...like to keep it at or under $50? I'm considering Connemara because I've heard good things...anybody tried it?

I use to be a Jameson drinker - I've moved to Tullamore Dew.

Black Bush on the rocks or straight back upscale Bushmills

Dad always has a bottle of Tullamore Dew at his house around the holidays for me.

I've got a bottle of this and like it. I didn't find the Connemara so I ended up getting a bottle of 12yr Red breast. Its a little over my budget but all I've heard is how great it is.

What's the tullamore price wise? What do you like about it over Jameson? I've been a Jameson drinker a long time

Dunno what the current price is. I don't drink all that much...my current bottle is 4 years old.

I think it's smoother.

25 years of Jameson for me before finding Dew.

Same with my ale - 20 years of Guinness before finding Murphy's

We have a number of different liquor stores here - but I've only found it at one of the higher-end ones. MGM doesn't carry it, the city store doesn't carry it...only place I found it was Haskells which only has 11 locations in the Twin Cities metro area.

Redbreast is where it's at.

Take it from a recovering alcoholic... in your budget, Teeling is pretty darn smooth for the price.  I found it when I was traveling around Delaware several years ago.  Red breast is a step above but the last bottle I got was 68.00

I was a beer drinker/ bourbon drinker.  But I fell in love with Irish pubs when I was traveling.   Really loved the lightness of irish style whiskey.   Ii have poured Teeling into my coffee thermos with some black coffee more times than i care to remember.

Yall drink responsibly And dont let it get too good to you.  I'm in permanent time out for all things alcohol.

Total Wine has it.  They have the best selection and the lowest prices I've ever seen.

So I can hit the one by Hobby Lobby and if they're out - the Haskell's by the Wendy's. (Ridgedale area)

Always have a bottle of Bushmills on hand. Tullqmore ia good. Redbreast is very good. Midleton is top shelf, but, in my opinion, not worth the price of admission.

Note: i don't think Pappy Van Winkle is worth the price either.

I've never had pappy and doubt I will cuz either way it doesn't end well. Either its the best you've had but its to rare and spendy to get again or it sucks for the price and you feel cheated out of the money.
