Lehigh Valley, PA Fishing - Jay

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am new here and relatively knew to fishing.  I got in deep during the craziness of 2020, with not much else to do and have been addicted since.

I'm from the Allentown (Lehigh Valley) Pennsylvania.

If anyone has any insight into fishing spot around the LHV, I would love your input.

Anyone local to me - there are a few ponds/small lakes I've come across on Fishbrain and other sources, does anyone have any insight into these:

  • Todd Lake (Ironton area - looks decent from photos)
  • Catasaqua Lake (I was there once - water was too low and the vegetation on the bottom was a pain)
  • Lake Muhlenberg (Cedar Beach Park, Allentown - Does anyone know if there are fish still in there?  I never see anyone fishing)
  • Daddona Lake (Across the road from Cedar Beach Park)
  • Lake Thomas (Center Valley)
  • Johnson's Pond (Looks to be pretty heavy with lily pads - maybe a good place for the frog?)

Thanks, everyone

Welcome aboard Jay.. I don't fish down your way so can't help you there. If your ever coming up northern Pa.shoot me a message and maybe we can hook up.

When I'm fishing local it's usually Cowanesque lake or lake Hammond.

Welcome! :)

Welcome.  I've fished the Little Lehigh a couple of times, and the Delaware in the area, long time ago.  I wouldn't be surprised to find bass, either largemouth or smallmouth, in the lower stretches of the Little Lehigh.  The Lehigh and the Delaware have bass.  You aren't that far from Beltzville or Mauch Chunk lakes.  Not familiar with the lakes and ponds you mentioned.  Generally, my fishing buddies and I drive past your area and head up to the Northern Poconos, and fish the smaller lakes around Lake Wallenpaupack.

Hey everyone.  Thanks for the welcome messages.  Definitely feels like a friendly place here.

Thanks, GaryH, I will keep that in mind if I make it up that way.

Thanks, for the input Fallser, nice to hear of someone who is at least a little familiar with my area.  I appreciate your thoughts.
