Yeah, you read that right. They just changed locations due to the inclement weather they are experiencing in Texas.

At one point there were more than 4 million people in Texas without power and 6 million without water. Last I heard at least 5 people had froze to death in their own home and others have died of carbo

  • How do tournament officials decide who's in groups A & B ? I've never heard how this is determined.    Is it predicated on an anglers position on the leader board ? Is it done

  • I called DC, saying he was due when we started this thread! I am hoping he continues to hammer em. He needs this win to keep up! Plus he is pretty darn entertaining!

With the power situation in Texas, it was probably a good call. Some people have been without power for 4 days or more. We had rolling blackouts in Oklahoma but the Thunder went ahead a played a game, because basketball is so important.

Eufaula makes sense. They fished it in February last year so most everyone has relevant data to go back to since they’re unofficial practices at Palenstine last month are now useless

Feel sorry for everyone involved in this change. That's a 700 mile swing! Kinda surprised they have not moved it back at least one more day.

At one point there were more than 4 million people in Texas without power and 6 million without water. Last I heard at least 5 people had froze to death in their own home and others have died of carbon monoxide poisoning trying to heat their home. Hotels all over Texas are packed and even they are experiencing rolling blackouts. I think it was the right move in the grand scheme of things.

Watched a lot of Day 1. Some big bass were showing up throughout the day. Should only get better each day. It's interesting that 2 of the 40 zero'd on Day 1!

Who’s winning? Or does it even matter until like day five or six?

Top 20 today go into round 2 - 10 tomorrow, 10 on Thursday

Top 5 of each go to final on Friday

Thrift is 1st

Defoe, Chapman, Wheeler, KVD, Tharp, Boom-Boom and Evers are all still in it.

Still over 4 hours of fishing to go.

No need to be insulting. ;)

Looks like the lake is fishing tough, although MLF reported Day 1 this year was better then last year. All the guys on the top are definitely just idling around looking for new spots. I heard a few yesterday make the comment of not burning out their fish in a day. Makes alot of sense with $300,000 on the line.

Hearing JT and them talk...The water is lower...the tournament is later in the month than it was last year (water temps changed)…you would think they would be moving up hardcore, but they do not seem to be as of yet. The water clarity is pretty crappy too in a lot of places.

Last year Wheeler won on this slake with his off shore spinnerbait bite. This year it seems people are mixing up Chatterbaits, and Spinnerbaits, but its not as productive it seems.

It is not surprising I guess either to be honest...1 day of practice was all that was allowed. There will be a lot of practicing going on from the top 15 guys in the last period today I bet.

That water clarity is like chocolate milk. Is Eufala always like that?

I like the Toro Cut Line. What a great spot for a sponsor...lol.

That's funny because I was thinking about that Toro cut line not an hour ago myself ?

I'm doing other things while the stream runs in the background.

One thing I'm liking - Boom-Boom doing as well as he is with an all-Frog concentration.

But this is the biggest event in the history of the sport????

still got a ways to go in my opinion. They always seem to be practicing during the events, not just this one

What are they suppose to do?  Lots of factors that can't be controlled.

I don't know about the rest of you, but that last 10 minutes was really exciting to watch.  The fight to make the cut was great.

Neal making that 3#er near the end and knocking Shryock out when Fletcher missed that set...right down to the wire.

The guys who are on them laid off today so they didn’t burn up their fish. Everyone else waiting for fish to move shallow. Water temps have been rising fast. I bet in another day or so there will be some big fish caught shallow

Don't forget that Strader caught one right at the end too.  Was just shy of making it.  Those final minutes are always exciting to watch.

Yup ~

That was a bit of dramatic action

Michael Neal pulled it out &

Fletcher Shryock is very hurt

Hope the shallow water bite heats up next few days.

Otherwise I fear this one may be a lot more of the same slow action.

Gotta remember also,  that they had a change of venue, only one day of practice etc. Hopefully the next 3 days are more worthy of what some expectations are.
