I haven't been able to watch but here and there. Is Fred still throwing a frog? Does he realize time is running out? LOL

The last time I saw him, he was. I think he is hoping for just a few big bites to propel him. That is what I mean when I mentioned people often know when to switch or move, but they just dont, or wont. Easier said watching from the outside of course.

At one point there were more than 4 million people in Texas without power and 6 million without water. Last I heard at least 5 people had froze to death in their own home and others have died of carbo

  • How do tournament officials decide who's in groups A & B ? I've never heard how this is determined.    Is it predicated on an anglers position on the leader board ? Is it done

  • I called DC, saying he was due when we started this thread! I am hoping he continues to hammer em. He needs this win to keep up! Plus he is pretty darn entertaining!

All it would take is a couple good bites at this point.

Was wondering when those red colored lipless, and cranks would be coming in to play. Montgomery just got him a 3lber off of what looked like a 3/4oz red lipless.

I'm pulling for KVD but, he is running out of time too!

I have about 10 guys I root for, obviously some more than others, but I always have a guy or two to root for each round.  Today was Andy Montgomery and KVD... 0 for 2 today.

After the timer - KVD showed that he is STILL a class act with his little talk about having a bad day on the water. Hats off to him.

Top 5 guys caught 26 scoreable bass.

Bottom 5 guys caught 6.

Tough sledding for them.

Was it just me or did it look like KVD was getting emotional there at the end?  Looked like he was about to cry.  Tournaments can put a lot of stress on these guys.

I MUCH prefer KVD's ending to Dudley's 'break my rod over his head' comment. Even if he was joking, still not something I like hearing.

Least he didn't have a beer, that would really have set some off. :)

I wouldn't care about a beer, shot of whiskey or even a smoke - threatening violence, even if joking, is not something I care to hear/see.

After one period of Knockout Round - Group B

Mr. Bryan Thrift is in the lead ~ Again

I think he's led at the end of every round he's fish during this 2021 RedCrest derby.

11 scorable and creeping up on 30 lbs.

The man is dialed in.

I like his style.

He is indeed dialed in!

This is his lake. He has more experience here than anyone I think.  I think he will have the best chance at winning this tournament. I do not think Ott, Wheeler, or anyone has the confidence to win this event as Thrift does.

This is Thrifts 4th professional tournament at Eufaula. His worst finish is 2nd......

I get a kick out of Thrift having more scoreable fish than Omori (2nd) and Evers (3rd) combined

As bad as the fishing seems to be, I am actually nervous watching the Toro cut line as we come down to the last hour and a half. Sooooo close and so much could change with just one or two more scorable fish.

That's why MLF makes for great theater.

Michael Neal likes to wait till the end to go ahead and make the cut.

Watching Michael Neil talk about the fish he is seeing on his screen is crazy.  He's playing a video game.  I think its boring to watch the guys fish a smallmouth tournament where all they do is cruise around staring at their screen and then drop the bait when they see one,  and I don't like having to watch them fish the banks, flats and docks for largemouth the same way.

I'm officially in the camp that they should limit the types of electronics these guys have on their boats.

I went out to do the dogs and missed it !

When I left there were only a few minutes left and he was below the cut.

What happened ?

He was throwing a jerkbait and found like 4 fish on a brush pile. Caught 2 3lbers in the last 7 min.

I think if Neal finds some fish off-shore early tomorrow, him and Thrift might have a shoot out.

11:04 am Thrift with a spinning rod in his hand and one fish! Not sure if this bodes well for him so far today.
