Are there any electric or battery operated lures?

Featured Replies

Is there a lure that is battery operated or robotic on the market?

Thanks

Livingston Lures has a battery operated line that is supposed to make "bait" noises once they hit the water. I think I have a lipless crank from them that does that

No idea - I'm not THAT much of a technophile.

In  the 80's there were advertisements in Bassmaster of a remote controlled top water lure  that was maneuvered by a rod that had  the controls built into it .

I have one of their Walking Boss walking baits. It had two sounds it makes. One sounds like a cricket and the other sounds like rushing baitfish. It worked well for me when in FL. But I haven't caught anything off it back in SC. It was about $14.

Do these work well?

I dont know if the sounds are the reason it catches fish, but the one I have is a lipless crank, and I catch fish on them all year round.

There is always 2-3 that show up at Icast but it just never seems to take off. While I still think its going to be something big in the future and most every fishermen will have 1 in the tackle box...we are still a ways away from that.  They are just to goofy/wonky looking right now.  Its coming though.

Thanks for all of the feedback.  I was thinking that type of lure would help me in attracting bass.  Perhaps I need to learn where bass are in the water.  I know a little about that but apparently not enough.
