What Leader material do you all use? (braid to leader)

Featured Replies

Any quality fluoro would work.  I use Tatsu and Sniper but only use leaders on spinning.  Personally if I were going to pay $15 ish for 25 yards of leader, I would just use Tatsu (great abrasion resistance) and get 200 yards for $40 ish.  However, we don’t have toothy critters so there may be qualities in leader line that I am unaware of.

Seaguar Blue remains my favorite, also easiest to knot, though I have used Gold in heavier test.

Never mind - Francho is correct - for awhile it was missing from their website, but it's back under salt leader.  There was also close-out pricing everywhere on Blue when Gold was introduced.

For Bait caster - I have used FC as leader material simply because I have enough laying around . If I didn't ,  I would use Berkley Big Game in Green #10 lb. , #12 lb. and #15 lb. (depending on the application) . The green color Big Game mono line  is almost invisible under water . For spinning I would probably use Sufix Siege in #6 lb.  & #8 lb. line sizes .

For FC is #10 and 20# Seaguar Abrazx depending on the setup, and for mono 15# Berkley Big Game.  Always with an Alberto knot.
