Heavy cover wacky rig hook

Featured Replies

Since it looks like revenge baits is done I’m searching for a new hook that will hold up to heavy cover I liked the flippin wacker by revenge because it had a very strong hook and a good weed guard. Iv been scrolling through TW but with out the hooks in front of me I can’t tell how heavy the hooks are I typically throw my wacky worms on 15lb line with a 7’3” MH so it needs to be a stout hook.

with that said I would like some options on what everyone else is having success with.

thanks.

I use the  Owner wacky Jungle hook. This isn’t a heavy wire hook, it’s a foraged wire hook that is extremely strong.

I like the Falcon K wacky hooks with the wire mouse trap style weed guard.

I've had really good luck with these. Not sure if you can find them anywhere other than Walmart, but my hookup ratio has been excellent with them.

Oh no!   I have been using these for a few years now and love them.  Is Revenge going out of business?

I emailed them and got no response and iv heard other people that have tried to contact them with no luck and TW is removing revenge baits from their website as they sell out.

Darn it.  I have a decent supply, but I will have to look for a replacement now as well.  I do have some fusion 19 weighted wacky hooks to try.  I have tried the Bieber weighted wacky and they are a little weak in both hook and weed guard.  I don’t even always need the weed guard, but I just had so much confidence in that hook. Thanks for the heads up.

Revenge is done!? I just ordered a bunch of those jig heads over winter and they look great. Glad I have some but that sucks I won't be able to get more if I really like them.

Has anyone tried the reins wacky head?looks to have a similar design to the revenge head. I’m just not sure about the hook.

The hook is OK.  Not like the Flippin wackers though. The weed guard is weak comparatively as well.

Wacky rigging and heavy cover are two things I don't ever mix together.  What's wrong with using a weedless z-bend worm hook?

I really like to have the weighted head  and a stout hook and weed guard.  While I admit power wacky rigging is a little out of the norm, it works awesome in moderate cover and trees.  You do lose a lot of hooks to snags, but you can wrench them out of the cover when you need to.   I do wacky rig a lot more finesse like, but there are times where it really works in cover as well.

Wacky jig is different than a wacky rig, though.  I agree, a wacky jig works great, often better than an unweighted plastic.

Yep.  The Revenge flippin wackers would be a wacky jig then.  My bad.  I always just called it a wacky rig since I hooked it in the middle of the worm.   Something about that weighted fall makes the worms action and can cover more and deeper water.  I have to call it wacky jig now.  That's a good distinction.  Thanks
