Rage menace as a jig trailer

Featured Replies

Anyone else just love using these guys as jig trailers? I feel like the fish bite a tad bit more when I use these instead of traditional craw trailers, maybe it's my neck of the woods but what about you guys? Do you throw the rage menace as a jig trailer a lot?

I fish the Menace a lot, but not as a traditional trailer. I like it on a swim jig and Texas rigged,

but always moving.

menace is my favorite moving bait trailer, my finesse jigs always have a rage bug (better skipping, tighter action, my favorite overall "on-the-fall" profile), bigger jigs get a rage craw.

Menace is my go to trailer for smaller jigs. I prefer a bigger profile trailer for most standard flipping or footballs. There really isn’t much I don’t have confidence in the Menace doing though.

Do you have the appendages moving vertically or horizontally when rigged?

I thought about using a menace on a few moving baits but wondered what way would be the better action.

I would imagine on a chatter bait for example, with the blade moving horizontally back and forth, it would make sense to match the menace for example with the appendages moving horizontally as well.

For traditional jigs it's always horizontal, I use them a lot of chstterbaits and swim jigs and verticle is always my choice. I really like them because they can be anything to the fish, especially on waterbodies that don't have crawfish.

This.

The Hard Candy on a 3/0 EWG, 1/4oz pegged weight and the just the tips of the tails dipped in chartreuse JJ's pitched around any kind of cover looks a lot like a baby gill, and the bass react accordingly.

I use them as a jig trailer, usually save the torn ones and use them. I hate cutting a new one for a trailer. Trying the Zman Goat as a more durable option but haven't had much time to test it yet.
