How heavy a braid and what action rod do you use when throwing whale baits in Michigan?

I usually go with a 20lb braid, but I use an UL rod to add a little excitement to the situation. Whales are kind of like walleye when it comes to reeling them in, not much fight and kind of like just pulling dead weight. ?

Stop fishing for dead fish.

How many lbs or drag should I use? Do I need to go to golds gym and use their weights to set it ?

Ever seen that? It's pretty amazing to watch.

I’ve seen the air show on Shark Week a couple years ago. Those big fish can get some serious air!

Not sure but for bait I like to use surfers. Paddling Out is the best presentation, that action really fires 'em up. And the strike is so crazy!
