Tried some out on a rig, 8# that tests at a lot more. It casts well, handles well on a small spinning reel and seems as hard to see as tatsu. Had to break off one time and it is darn strong, stretches a little more than FC but knots hold well and did I mention its real reasonable. Will be using it in the line-up till I decide if I want to go lighter like 6#, it has one thing I don't care for, it floats and I have always liked a sinking line for plastics. We'll see   Dave

YZH has a weird rating system. 4# YZH is the equivalent to about a premium 6# or 8# in terms of breaking strength and diameter ... 

 

That said its my primary line of choice ... for the waters I fish, smoke gray color blends well

I have YZH on three rigs now, upping that to four next year.

 

Lots complain that the diameter for the pound-test is high...but if you look at the true breaking strength, it's right in line with just about anything else.

 

I like the fact that it seems neutrally buoyant - doesn't float like nylon, doesn't sink like FC...they seem to have gotten the mix exactly right.

I use Yo-Zuri as well and no complaints. 10-12 lb on my baitcastesr and 8 lb on spinning reels.

I have just started using it upon roadwarrior’s advice.  I’m impressed with the strength.  I have 6# on 5 Ned setups.

I use their 12lb for shallow cranking only because it’s the diameter of most 15lb lines.

Always go by line diameter (especially with lines like YZH and C-XX) as they are large for the line rating .

Well the two things yet to decide on is failure to sink with lighter weightless lures and abrasion resistance, where I fish I will truly find out how well it holds up to all types of abrasive conditions. Tomorrow will be another test day.........

Yo-Zuri Hybrid is good line at a great price. I use #4 to fish live bait.

Why only 5 Ned setups?  Do you not use them very much?

I've got 4# on my ML rig for shore fishing/panfishing. I've had to rip the hook out of weeds and one time 'harvested' a lily-pad...stem and all...pulled it up by the roots.

 

4# is plenty strong for where I use it.

With regular KVD Line lube, YZH is a tremendous value....up to 12#.  Even KVD L&L doesn't do much to tame 15# YZH....which makes sense since it is probably equivalent to 90# Fluoro 

Well I'll finish this thread up with final results for me in my style fishing, the abrasion resistance is dismal for me and showed me why I use tatsu. Fish knicking and nasty wood areas and rocks do a number on it pretty quick. Good line but not for me.   Dave
