C rig in the fall

Featured Replies

I have been doing really well this fall using a Carolina rig with a Rage bug. Even better then a jig. A little shorter leader about 18 to 24 inches. Maybe it’s showing something different

Feel your pain. If I’m not swimming them there getting hung.  Especially here in the Ozarks rivers

Ive been doing great with a split shot lately.  Actually an 1/8th oz bullet or cylinder weight rig.  Rage Bug and the Ultra Vibe Speed Craw have been the money makers for me.

I never have did any good bass fish the C-rig. I get hung or I drag in wads of stuff, weeds or grass.

Have you tried a lighter weight or run the outside of weeds.

I just realized that the c rig could work really well for me in a couple of the ponds I fish. Been a long time since I’ve fished it. Thanks

Haven’t went lighter, but have tried running the outside. I really don’t get it, I can T-rig the same area hoping on the bottom and don’t get hung no where as much as C-rigged.
got to be the way I’m fishing it.

I like it better on hard bottom areas

crigs are great! have had good success with them thus far, 24/7 365 day bait.

If you see me fishing a C-rig, I'm about to call it a day because I've tried everything else and reached my last resort.

If you see me fishing it, it's an imposter.

If you see me carolina rigging you will see me catching fish too.  #1 producer for me through all seasons.

When I can’t find fish on my electronics, but I’m fairly certain they’re there a C-rig or a crank become my fish finders. I’ll also reach for one if a crakbait bite dies.
Shorter leaders in colder water, longer in warmer, but 3ft. Is the max I’ll go.

I do pretty well with dragging a mojo rig and a 4 inch yum dinger.
A Carolina rig is basically the same thing except heavier weight.  HowEver, I’ve yet to catch anything on a Carolina rig.  I’d like to though.  There are a half dozen lakes of the top of my head I think it would be perfect for.
