Tatsu

Featured Replies

Finally broke down and ordered some Tatsu line.  However, it arrived on the coldest day of the year!  Any concerns about the line sitting on the front porch for 7 hours @ 5 degrees F?

No Concerns.

Many folks use FC for ice fishing.

You should be good.  I have used it in 25-30 degree weather all day on the water and I may have frozen guides but the line works great.

It will be fine but if there was ever a line that justifies backing, it’s Tatsu.  Great line but not cheap.

Amazon has a big sale on it now.

Anyone have a line on (sorry for the pun) Tatsu 17lb? Amazon doesn't have it, and the usual retailers I looked at all want MSRP which is .... well I'll just keep fishing this 20lb until I can find it. Ebay has some, but ehhh that's a bit sketchy, unless someone knows a seller -very- well.

Am. Legacy has 17lb for $54.99 (200 yds).  You can get 10% off if you sign up for their newsletter.

Wow....$55 for 200yds of line.  I think even if I was 'KVD good' and got it free.... I'd still have a hard time promoting it.

Ya - if I'm going to upgrade from InvizX to Tatsu...it's only gonna be during a 'deep' sale.

Surely you don’t think I was promoting it.  The OP asked a question and I gave an answer.  It is up to the OP to make his/her purchase decisions.  For all I know, the OP may be Bill Gates and a million dollars is ashtray money.

I just use it like a top shot. 50 yards at a time, 4 spool ups off each 200 yard spool, brings it to $13.75 a fill up. That's how I justify it anyways. I don't use fluoro for many long casting techniques, so I don't need much at a time.

Nope...didn't think that.  'Promoting' was in regard to my hypothetical of being a sponsored pro getting free line.  I buy expensive fishing stuff all the time that others would shake their head at, so I 'get it', I just don't splurge on line that high.
