There's always next season....  ?

We used to say the same thing about the Red Sox prior to 2004. ?

@gimruis, "tanking" games is a double edge sword. If you're a team that looks to "tank" games, how do you attract free agents to come play for you?

EDIT: @Choporoz, you must have posted the same time I did. Just wanted to ad you here.

@Choporoz may be accurate with his view point on an owner.  I'm sure at some point an NFL owner wanted their team to lose the last game in order to draft "X" player that looked like a future franchise QB.

I was only speaking in general terms, and as a competitor myself.  The players and coaches better darn well be playing to win otherwise there are how many other players and coaches waiting to replace them.  Its d**n hard to get to that level of competition.

I have seen some guys in my Father's golf league purposefully tank part of their round so they can make their handicap go higher for future matches.  When I saw it, I told them what I thought of it.  Let's just say the conversation ended there.

I believe @Choporoz and I posted the same exact time and I didn't see his thoughts on it, so my apologies for not recognizing it and I was speaking in general terms as well @gimruis

I sometimes forget about the "business" side of the NFL and actually hate pro-sports at times because of the huge money that's involved.

I had no issue with Flores.  I thought the Dolphins where making progress.  What I have a problem with was his lawyer making his employment into a racial issue.  This is insulting to everyone.   Does anyone want to be hired as a NFL coach because of their skin color?  No one cares what color skin you have or where you came from.  You get hired to do a job.  If you don't do that job, your boss will find someone who will.

The Dolphins were intimidated and hired a biracial coach. I'm sure they checked his DNA to avoid any further backlash.

I do however believe McDaniel will succeed, high football IQ.

We can only hope....

The whole stinking scenario is wrong. For anyone, you should be hired on your own personal merit.  Merit, ability, qualifications, experience, history of success.  Race and gender should not factor in.  That goes for Flores.

And that goes for not only sports leagues which employs a fraction of this country’s workforce, but for every industry everywhere.

Affirmative Action, hiring quotas, so called “over qualification” have kept the most qualified by experience, education and ability not being hired all for reasons they can’t control.
