Rodent Chewed My Trucks Wires

A mouse ran into my garage when I was doing my last mow in the fall. I stalked him like a lion in the Serengeti stalks a gazelle. I got him the old fashion way…with a straw broom.

Better him than the wires in my vehicles. Now if I can only keep them out of my BBQ…

You did the right thing, Dude you dont know how I felt paying $1200 for that fix when I constantly thinking of buying tackle. ?

Set beacon in some snap traps. Set them on the grate. do it every afternoon .  works

My car mice ate to much Decon bait station REFILL green blocks. I cut them into 4 small pieces right on the intake manifold.  They munced & never came back.

I start by put dryer sheets which was recommended by two person, Also I am going to do snap trap.

remember opossum and chipmunk and squirrels can be guilty part on my case(my truck is not in garage).

I have the Decon green pieces on all motor things. The poison is Human drug called Coumadin . A blood thinner.

can I buy it on amazon?

https://www.amazon.com/Benefect-CD33GL-Botanical-Decon-30/dp/B00F17QMN6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2EOZT628M87WX&keywords=Decon+green&qid=1645401460&sprefix=decon+green%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-1

Is it this one you spray? or nuggets?

Home Depot sells it. Bright yellow plastic bag .

I do not use it loose indoors. Dead mice in the walls & humid ?  You can put them in a container with a hole just big enough for a momma. Bu not other animals.

I can say with confidence that these (3) things do absolutely nothing to repel mice, tried them.

(1) ultrasonic devices

(2) dryer sheets

(3) Peppermint oil

My mice problem grew to epic proportions until I killed them with traps using peanut butter.....knowing a mouse is dead is better than guessing if a tactic worked.

In N j they are in a BOOM cycle.

Here goes my second hope, (the first ultrasonic was debunked by my father).

Squirrel? Maybe. Chipmunk even bigger maybe. Possum would crawl in there to die but wouldn’t chew wires . Mice and rat are always the leading suspect

Car & house & outside telephone wires are made with SOY.  The smart Green dummies rule.

It wasn’t easy. My wife thought I was going to catch and relocate Mickey…she was bummed the rest of the day at my handiwork.

Do yourself a favor and get a professional involved. I called my exterminator company. They visit a few times a year to take care of our ants ? but will take care of other pests as well. My guy put some rodent traps out and he will be back in the spring to lay out some more.

I did find something that worked for ants....TERRO.

I only had rodent damage to 1 truck.  My 2004 3/4 ton Silverado that I traded in on my current 1/2 ton Silverado in 2016.  Truck was always parked on my asphalt driveway and driven very regularly.  Most it ever sat was a couple of weeks. I went out to put washer fluid and do a once over and found that something had shredded my firewall insulation.  I started digging and when I opened the big fuse box, they had chewed the schematic paper on the lid that showed what all the fuses and relays went to.  Luckily they didn’t go after any wiring.  Since I owned a pest control company at one time, I took care of the problem pretty quickly.  ?
