Seaquar Abrazx Question

Featured Replies

I was originally braid to FC leader on my all bass fishing setups except for top water which was straight braided line. That happened when I want to try fluorocarbon, I pick up the cheapest from Walmart and I had so much difficulty and lots of backlash. So thats how I became a braid to leader guy. It was like that until I know glenn and he swears by Seaguar(with facts of course). So I gave it a try and OMG that Tatsu is what I was looking for forever. And BAM I start to change the spools one by one to Tatsu and I am glad that I did. You might thing I am exaggerating,But I never had backlash with Tatsu.

Now as some of you might know I am in XL glides and swimbait fishing, And everyone said to use Abrazx because thats the best line for that kind of fishing, I scare to buy spool and have the backlashes again. Is it Abrazx also limp? Currently I am 80lb test braid to 30lb Fc leader on my XL swimbait combos and I am thinking 20lb even 25lb test abrazx.

AbrazX is NOT limp. It's highly abrasive resistant and is most appropriate for

fishing jigs. If you want to try another fluorocarbon other than Tatsu and at

an "affordable" price, I recommend InvizX. Specifically #17.

We talking 6oz to 20oz, so I need 20 to 25lb, dont you think so?

Probably...

I don't throw anything that heavy, so I will stay out of this conversation.

limp = leader

If you want limp fluorocarbon, buy Blue or Gold in leader spools, and pick it by diameter.

Adding a ps for @ATA - Gold leader is notably harder and more abrasion-resistant than Blue.

I fished through a couple of 12-lb bulk spools in Abrazx for salt, and it was go-to line for me - before braid.

I have 15# Tatsu on my jig-rig. I also have 8# InvizX on one of my spinners.

I'd say they're fairly close to each other in abrasion resistance, Tatsu is limper, but InvizX is MUCH limper than AbrazX. I tried 15# AbrazX on the jig-rig before the Tatsu...now my AbrazX is relegated to leader material only...will never spool it up as mainline.

It’s not too bad with a line conditioner.

Define 'not too bad' - I use KVD on everything but braid, and the AbrazX (IMO) just wasn't affected enough to make it worth my while.

Still waiting to hear from guys here about BasiX.

I could see the coiling being annoying on bottom contact stuff but I use it mostly cranking bigger boot tails so it’s always under at least a little tension and I don’t readily notice it.

20lb abrazx is like casting barbed wire. Why not use mono?

I want to get to depth by my baits, also I need the sensitivity of fluorocarbon. Otherwise Ill just use straight braid.

I have 8lb AbrasX on a couple spinning rods, straight fluoro. Doesn't seem to stiff at all to me?
