Potential World Record Meanmouth. Guess where?

Featured Replies

That is an awesome story! I wonder if that is the lake that Miliken fishing has been catching 12's all the time?

The local newspapers advised back in February getting to OH Ivie as early as possible, as the entire parking lot is full at all the ramps by sunrise. I have to wonder how long this lake will continue to support fish of this size.

Am I the only one that is bothered by the writer referring to a hybrid as a species?

Nice catch for sure, though.

You and I got similar backgrounds, John - I twitched a couple times at that as well.

Definitely a memorable catch that he'll be happy with for years to come.

Amazing fact is that the pending world record meanmouth is still smaller than the world record smallmouth a tribute to David Hayes' accomplishment.

I’m headed to david Hayes fishing hole in a couple weeks, see if I can break it

You better GET EM!

it just started sleeting here so I think I'm going to eat some soup and reorganize my plastics. I wonder if plastics will be more effective if they sit in some soup for a day...

You can have our sleet, but fair warning - it contains lightning this time.

If Zeus wasn't up there being drunk I'd probably have a line in the water, but I'm not trying to end up on the wrong side of a fish fry ?

I'd like to see you post a record. Get em!

I wonder how Bass like the taste of Chili...with beans

IGFA recognizes hybrid fish for record status, (Tiger Musky) Pike/Musky hybrid, (Wiper) White Bass/Stripe Bass and (Mean Mouth) Smallmouth/ Largemouth hybrid.

The IGFA doesn’t recognize Florida strain LMB as a separate species or record category?

FLMB/Smallmouth bass hybrid is going to grow heavier then NLMB /Smallmouth bass hybrid; the WR record at O.H. Ivie.

The 17 from a week ago is a bigger draw IMO

I tend to agree for my own purposes, but any time a world record is made it's going to draw even more attention. From what I hear, you have to get on the lake ridiculously early if you want to find a place to park the trailer. That's a big no thanks from me.

Now that's a fish of a life time!! I would definitely be getting a replica made

As the fisherman said in the video, "Holy ......."
