Hello everyone, I'm wondering if I need to apply anything to protect the cork of the new rods I purchase.. 

 

what do you use?? where do you buy it??

Yep,... Can't remember if I ordered mine from TW or Amazon. But that's what I use.

Heat shrink tubing, put it on and forget it.

I order the U40 stuff, after I read your post I looked for a few youtube videos and seems like a good options.

I'm sure this will protect the cork better than anything. 

A very light coat of U40 and you will be good to go. Been using for years and I am only on my second container. Product lasts a long time.
