snap swivel ? and braid color ?

Featured Replies

Does anyone use snap swivels to attach lures to line?

Currently I use a light grayish bluish braid that is not very visible (to me) with a clear fluorocarbon leader. I was thinking of changing the braid color to a brighter color, like yellow, that I can see better. Does that make a difference? How about the leader color if I changed it to a color other than clear?

I don't use snap-swivels at all...even panfishing.

Only time I even use swivels is donkey rig or Carolina rig.

I have a buddy who uses braid to a snap on everything and has no problem catching fish. He uses no leaders. I fish braid with no leaders but I color the last 5 feet black. I use a snap for hard baits and have no problem getting bites. My mainline is yellow Sufix 832.If braid or snaps decreased bites then a Tokyo rig or Alabama rig wouldn't work.

The only time I use a snap swivel or an inline swivel is with an inline spinner.

vmc touch-loks on the end of my main braid line are like my boxer shorts, i am never without them.

Snaps, yes for a lot of baits. Snap-swivels, only for spoons or inline spinners.

I use flash green Smackdown on a few rods with a leader and have no problems getting bites on it.

Agreed. I use snaps in lieu of snap rings on hardbaits so I can change them out easier. Rarely use a swivel unless it's on a steel leader in northern waters (Asin waters with Northerns in them!! Dang slimers!! ?
