The weather report calls for rain tomorrow...we have slightly stained water ..and I'd guess the water temp is 50-52. What you throwing?

That is one thing I have tied on!

What has the weather trend been like the last week or so?  Water temps going up, down or steady?

I'd throw a jerkbait and a chatterbait, but I don't fish water that cold too often so I'm sure the northern guys will have better suggestions.

Not enough information. Pond, lake, reservoir, river? What has the weather been for the past 3-4 days? History of the body of water, etc. Every body of water fishes differently, so the lure will depend on the conditions and the cover, at least until the fish start chiming in.

Jig-n-Craw ?

That was me last weekend. 52-53 degrees, 2’ visibility, overcast. I had a chatterbait, spinnerbait, sexy dawg, and a jig tied on. The chatterbait, sexy dawg, and a red craw OG slim produced.

You're a bit north of my area, so I'm assuming the bass are still holding deep and haven't started moving up as yet.  I've been doing extremely well throwing a 1/4oz. blade bait slowly just off the bottom.  I moved up to a 3/8oz. today and used a lift-glide retrieve and picked up a limit off of a deeper drop-off. The females are still deep here.

The other presentation that'd been working was vertical jigging a tube bait on a 1/8oz. jig head.

Water temp was around 58-60 when I went a few days ago here in Iowa

Where abouts in Iowa? I'm in the northwest corner of the state

I would probably have 3 ready to fish with when I got there  a jerkbait,a u-vibe speed craw Texas rigged, and a spinner bait.

Rat-L-Trap, 1/2oz, probably something reflective or bold in color, given stained water probably gold or red this time of the year.

Well I got out this morning for 3hrs and im.even more confused. Temp is around 55 and we've had steady rain off and on...no big downpours no lightning since last night. About 5 cast in with a spinner bait I got slammed by a 3.5lb largemouth in about 10in of water. Then me and my buddy got skunked for the next 2hrs and 55 minutes. We threw spinnerbait, t rig beaver bait and worm, several iterations of lipless, several iterations of Ned rig, chatterbaits...hell I even threw a small popper and a floating rapala twitched slow on top since my fish was so shallow. Never could find em or figure em out.

Ended up going back out for about 2 hrs and got 2 little dudes on a finesse flipping jig with a baby dbomb trailer. 3 bass on a windy rainy cold day...ill take it.

I like that blade configuration

This would be the one time I’d say throw a red colored crank, shad rap, or what ever you have.  To me red is a total crappy day situational color( wouldn’t know that by how many red lures they make and sell

).

2nd would be a black spinner bait or chatter bait. Something the fish will have no problem homing in on.

3rd black crank bait

Gotcha...yeah I'm afraid its been colder here. There's a lake 35 miles north of me my buddies have been panfishing...they put the boat in fairly recently and I think the water was like 46...and it hasn't been overly warm since then.
