Is he still in business? I read some older posts on FB that hinted that he might not be due to illness. This of course is after I made an order to them.

 

Still lots of it in stock everywhere. I haven't heard anything about them going out of business.

Once I realized that there might be an issue ordering directly from, JJ Magic, I placed another order with TW. If JJ Magic is no longer in business, then they shouldn't have a website that will process orders (and take payment). Hopefully all is well and I'll end up with a boatload of JJ Magic. Fingers are crossed.....

I have the Red.  need the yellow.  but honestly a paint marker would be the better option for me on a kayak.  I have red dribbles on my kayak.  it is not a tidy event in my ham-hands.  it is nice it wears off in a week tho.  my fishing pants might be permanently stained. 

I'll need to order some JJ's soon.

Dye your baits the night before. When they are dry, put them in a baggie. No more boat/clothing mess.

Yes they are still open for business.

Just an FYI. I have chartreuse and red JJ's. If I dip a tail in chartreuse and after it dries I dip it in red I usually get an orange tail. 

 

I also used the two dies to get some orange bellies on swim baits brushing the JJ's on with Q Tips.

I like to use a fine paint brush to put red JJ's on the gill plates of soft swimbaits. Then a Q-Tip to put a kill shot under the chin.

Keep the tips and hints coming! I haven't used it and I believe it will up my game.

I'm curious about dry times and the procedure for combining colors to make a third (blue + yellow = green). Any insight into this?

It dries pretty quickly. Combining colors is the same.

Totally agree. But I already have the JJ's for dipping and like I said earlier, I do not use JJ's in the boat. I dye everything the night before on my workbench and put it in baggies.

Hmm, I've never had that issue. I keep them in a plastic Plano box. I don't use them a ton but I know I got at least 3 years out of my current ones. 

I used JJ's for a few years, but it was just too much hassle.  Storage compartment stunk like garlic, despite keeping the jars in a lock-tight metal container.  The dye evaporated out of the bottle too, no matter how tight the lid was on, so I never got the full bottle's worth.

 

Combine that with the glass jars and special care to avoid spills and such, and it was just too much to bother with. 

 

Megastrike is much easier to use, takes up less space, and it works.

Agree with this. Mine are at least 6 years old. I keep them in a ziploc bag and they still work (and stink) like new.

Answering my own question, yes, they are still doing business. I just received my order from them.

 

I dyed a bunch of my KVD shads and I'll see if it steps up my game on Tuesday.

First time out using JJ's Magic. My initial impression is that I'm very impressed. I caught larger fish consistently and with greater frequency. My fishing buddy, who usually does as well as I do, only had half of my catch and smaller fish. Granted, this is only after one day of fishing,  Note* We fish from kayaks on a small pond.
